Zovuni, Aragatsotn

Zovuni (also, Molla Kasum) is a former village in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. Its ruins now lie beneath the Aparan Reservoir. The settlement was famous for the mausoleum of Vardan Momikonyan. Prior to the construction of the dam and flooding of the valley, the cultural monuments of the historic village (Poghos-Petros Chuch, Tukh Manuk shrine, and the S. Zoravar (General) Vardan Momikonyan Mausoleum) were moved stone-by-stone to higher ground to the east of the reservoir. The Zovuni cemetery sits to the east of the church, across a ravine. The monuments sit in close proximity to the village of Jrambar.
